Raki Kopernik grew up mostly in Chicago and partly in Israel, but was all the way in Portland,
Oregon in her twenties, when she wrote the three-part zine Shut Up and Dance, unavailable anywhere but the bathrooms of random people, mostly on the west coast.
She recently completed her MFA in Creative Writing at Naropa University, where the
seeds of these stories began, and is now in the throes of trying to get her short
story collection, Hat Head, published.
