Tejada founded the journal Man­dorla: New Writing from the Americas, a forum for advanced poetry and translation; he continues to co-edit the journal with Kristin Dykstra and Gabriel Bernal Granados. He was the 2006 recipient of an NEA translation award for his rendering of the Cuban postmodernist José Lezama Lima. He is the author, most recently, of Mirrors for Gold (Krupskaya, 2006).
