Second Year

The second year of the Wilderness Therapy program provides an integration of courses through field sections. Most of the "classroom" time happens in the outdoors, ranging from gardens within the city of Boulder to remote backcountry settings like the canyons of Utah.

The various field sections include mountains, climbing, canyons, equine, ropes courses, ecology, horticulture, rivers and rites of passage. Time during the field sections includes theoretical lectures and discussions, clinical practice, experiential work, contemplative practice and group work.

In between field sections, students participate in some indoor intensives and also have time to do reading and writing assignments.
