Goals and Learning Outcomes

The MA in Transpersonal Psychology program has three goals.

GOAL 1: KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of transpersonal psychology and its applications.

Learning Outcomes

  • Students will be able to identify, describe, and evaluate transpersonal psychology, including its important concepts, history, research methods, theoretical views, and current issues.
  • Students will be able to describe, analyze, and generate a variety of applications of transpersonal psychology.

GOAL 2: SKILLS AND CAPACITIES

Students will cultivate life-long skills, capacities, and views of transpersonal psychology and contemplative practice.

Learning Outcomes

  • Students will demonstrate increasing maturity in the following areas: openness, deep listening, authentic presence, holding and valuing multiple perspectives, leadership, and a relationship with the transpersonal.
  • Students will be able to describe, engage, and integrate a variety of transpersonal and contemplative practices.

GOAL 3: EXPRESSION AND ENGAGEMENT

Students will express and expand their understanding of transpersonal psychology through active engagement with themselves, their communities, and the world.

Learning Outcomes

  • Students will demonstrate integration and application of transpersonal psychology in a topic of personal concern and broader implications.
  • Students will demonstrate maturity and ongoing commitment to self-inquiry and skillful expression of transpersonal psychology in a transpersonal service project.
