Alumni Careers

Several MA Transpersonal Psychology alumni have gone on to graduate study in transpersonal and clinical psychology and related areas. Others are applying their degrees in a wide variety of areas.

Here are some examples of the work our graduates are doing:

  • running a community healing program in Northern Ireland
  • staffing a hospice facility in rural Minnesota
  • providing nonviolent communication training in schools and businesses
  • applying contemplative practice in programs for caregivers
  • teaching transpersonal psychology in colleges and universities

MA Transpersonal Psychology students tell us they are seeking to develop and refine their understanding and practice of transpersonal psychology and to apply it in their lives. Often, they have reported a deep and abiding inclination toward transpersonal values and have not had the means to explore or express these values.

They tell us that this program has provided those means. Furthermore, they tell us that the blend of contemplative practice, intellectual inquiry and community with others in the program has been the most important factor in meeting their goals.

In addition to using the degree for personal enrichment, we expect graduates will apply it in a number of career areas including education, business, social services, health care, organizational development and community development. Professionals in clinical and counseling psychology may also use it to expand their understanding and practice.
