Graduation Requirements

Satisfactory completion of course work, fieldwork, internship hours, counseling experiential hours, thesis, deficient admission requirements and any other Naropa University financial and administrative requirements are required for graduation eligibility.

Students will not graduate without completing all the requirements. When all requirements are complete, Somatic Counseling Psychology students may graduate in either the spring semester or the fall semester. The department holds graduation circle ceremonies in both the fall and the spring semesters to celebrate graduating students with their communities.

Many of the faculty members responsible for attending to the completion of the thesis and internship process are not required to be available during the summer; therefore, graduating in the summer is discouraged.

Students interested in graduating in the summer are required to submit a request to the Somatic Counseling Psychology Department with an agreement from their committee members and the director of the student’s concentration indicating that they will be available to assist the student in the summer semester–based completion process.
