For Visiting Students

Naropa University's online course are open to credit students visiting from other universities. Naropa University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

Should I take the course for graduate or undergraduate credit?

Students are strongly advised to check with their host school if they have any intention of transferring credit from Naropa to another college or university. Students must choose graduate or undergraduate credit during registration and the drop/add period. Credit level cannot be changed after drop/add ends.

May I take the class for noncredit?

We are offering noncredit seats for a reduced cost for all the online classes at this time on a space-available basis. Please view the Tuition and Fees page for updated cost information.

Can I take the class noncredit now and upgrade it to credit later by paying the difference in tuition?

Taking a class noncredit means that you are not responsible for fulfilling the academic requirements for the class, and you are not graded for your participation. As a result, you will not nor will you be able to in the future, receive academic credit for your participation should you choose to enroll noncredit now. It is not possible to "upgrade" a noncredit class in order to receive academic credit.

Is it possible to take online courses and apply them to a degree at Naropa?

If you are interested in receiving a degree offered through the online campus, you will be taking a number of online classes. It is a good idea to try one before you commit to a whole program. You may transfer the credits earned through Naropa Online to one of Naropa's degree programs.

However, for graduate programs a student may only transfer in up to 6 credits. This applies whether it is taken through Naropa or outside of Naropa. The credits are transferred at the discretion of Admissions and the academic department.
Check with the Admissions Department to learn which courses apply toward the degree you are interested in.

How do I register?

The first step is to visit the online campus. Please click on the Registration and Admissions link. Follow the instructions as you create an account for yourself and then login using that account to choose your class(es) and payment options. Please note that prepayment is required in order to get access to Naropa online classes.

How and when do I pay?

The payments must be received by the end of add/drop period. For students attending Naropa Online Classes as non-Degree-seeking students, and for those attending as noncredit students:

During the registration process, you may pay online with a Visa or MasterCard by using the online secure credit card payment process.

You may fax your Visa or MasterCard credit card information to 303-546-3536. Please include student's name, student's SSN, semester, course, name on credit card, credit card number, expiration date, amount and a signature.

You may mail a check for the full amount payable to "Naropa University," attention Coordinator of Student Accounts, 2130 Arapahoe Avenue, Boulder, CO 80302. Please include the student's name, SSN and course number on the check.

You may phone your Visa or MasterCard credit card information to the Coordinator of Student Accounts's office at 303-546-3554.
