Faculty Dzogchen Ponlop RinpocheThe Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche is acknowledged as one of the foremost teachers of his generation in Buddhist studies. He is fluent in English and known for his unique blend of intellectual precision, humor and warmth. A prominent Buddhist educator as well as an accomplished mahamudra master, his training in a traditional Buddhist university setting in India, as well as at Columbia University in New York, provides him with the unique ability to convey the essence of the Buddhist teachings to Western students. His recently published books are Penetrating Wisdom: The Aspiration of Samantabhadra and Wild Awakening: The Heart of Mahamudra and Dzogchen. Rinpoche resides in North America and is the founder of two non-profit organizations - Nitartha International dedicated to using PC technologies to preserve and disseminate Tibetan educational materials and Nitartha Institute dedicated to teaching and training Western teachers in the Tibetan educational system - and Nalandabodhi, an association of Buddhist meditation and study centers. The lectures (pre-recorded oral presentations as well as written transcripts) on the Three Jewels prepared by Rinpoche are the substantive teaching materials for the course.
