Naropa's Commitment

President's Climate Challenge

BOULDER, Colo – In the summer of 2007, Naropa University President Thomas B. Coburn recently committed to sharply reducing and eventually eliminating all of the university's global warming emissions while accelerating the research and educational efforts to equip society to restabilize the earth's climate.

The pledge came with Coburn's signing of the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment, joining the leaders of more than four hundred other institutions across the country.

“Global warming is a defining challenge of our time,” said Coburn. “Human activities are part of the problem and, likewise, humans have the capacity to solve the problem. That means taking serious action today to stop adding global warming pollution to the atmosphere.” Read entire press release
