Campus Sustainability Day

October 26, 2011. On Campus Sustainability Day, we look at sustainability in our personal lives and on campus. We also celebrate with live music and organic food from local farms and businesses. This is an event that touches on questions at the heart of the matter and opens up space for attendees to share and communicate their thoughts and feelings around the topic of sustainability.

Event Schedule

  • 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.: Earth Ritual: Naropa Green From
  • 2:00 p.m.: Welcome & Announcements– Ana Lucía Fariña, Environmental Studies GA
  • 12:05 p.m.: Words by Director of the School of Natural and Social Sciences and a faculty in Environmental Studies- Jeanine Canty - PhD.
  • 12:10 p.m.: Sustainability Update from Naropa Sustainability Coordinator – Jon Dyer
  • 12:20 p.m.: Food Blessing by Anne Parker PhD. & Faculty of Environmental Studies.
  • 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.: Open Mic Session opening - Mason Brown
  • 1:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.: Readings - Reed Bye and Naropa Students.
  • 1:15 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.: Closing act - MFA Theater performance

Earth Day

Naropa University recognizes Earth Day as a time to celebrate the interconnectedness of all beings, a time to unite in conscious awareness of the actions we can take to live sustainably. Environmental Speakers Series

The Environmental Studies Department hosts locally and nationally known speakers on a variety of interesting topics. Check schedule for upcoming speakers and dates.

Bioneers

Naropa cosponsors the annual Bioneers satellite event at the University of Colorado, Boulder, each October. Bioneers provides assemblies to promote connections between human health and environmental health in order to strengthen communities and lessen our environmental impact.
