Both events are free and open to all - no registration required.

Guru Rinpoche Tames Bhutan: Tales of a Tantric Yogi in the Land of the Thunder Dragon

Thursday, August 14, 2014, from 6:00–7:30 p.m.
Performing Arts Center, Arapahoe Campus, 2130 Arapahoe Avenue, Boulder

According to Bhutanese legend, Padma Sambhava (Guru Rinpoche—the precious guru) visited Bhutan before he ever went to Tibet, and performed wondrous activities there. Other great masters followed in his wake, making Bhutan the powerful and sacred place that it is today. This evening we will hear some of the rich lore that still endures from a holder of the lineage of Padma Lingpa, the great treasure revealer of Bhutan.

Blessing Empowerment of Guru Rinpoche

Friday, August 15, 2014, from 6:00–7:30 p.m.
Performing Arts Center, Arapahoe Campus, 2130 Arapahoe Avenue, Boulder

To provide the opportunity to make a sacred connection with this lineage and this land, Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche will perform a blessing empowerment of Guru Rinpoche and the reading transmission for the short feast practice called "Rainfall of Blessings."

Gangteng Tulku RinpocheHis Eminence Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche is, first and foremost, a Dzogchen teacher. Dzogchen is the highest practice of the Buddha-dharma, and is the dynamic, living essence of primordial awareness-emptiness. To meet with an authentic Dzogchen master and receive his living transmission, however it is imparted, is a blessing beyond measure.
